Under the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme 2024, a loan of up to Rs 4 lakh is given by the government. Under this scheme, the government will provide loans to the students at a very low interest rate. Under this scheme, loans are given for more than 42 types of courses like graduation, BA, BSc etc.

In addition to the amount fixed for living and accommodation, there is a provision for purchasing textbooks, reading material up to Rs. 10,000/- per year and laptop up to Rs. 35,000/- for students of technical courses.

4% simple interest rate (only 1% for women, handicapped and transgender applicants). No interest is payable during the moratorium period i.e. there is no provision for calculation of interest.

Bihar Student Credit Card Yojana 2024 New Update: Eligibility to avail benefits under this

Under this scheme, benefits will be given to the students of Bihar state who have passed 12th (10th for Polytechnic).
The maximum age limit of the applicant is 25 years as on the date of application while for postgraduate level courses the age limit is 30 years.
Apart from major technical, vocational and general courses, it is also available for Polytechnic and ITI courses.
People from all classes, castes, categories, gender, religions and income groups can avail the benefits of this scheme.

Aadhar card of the applicant and co-applicant.
Mark sheet and certificate of Matriculation, +2 (10th for Polytechnic courses) and last successful examination.
Certificates related to scholarship received, free education etc. (if applicable)
Photocopy of applicant’s bank passbook, in which branch name, account number and IFSC code is mentioned.
Certificate of enrollment in the institute mentioning the course duration (or course brochure for institutes outside Bihar state).
Details of course fees received from the institute.
Two passport size photographs of the application and co-applicant i.e. mother/father/husband/guardian (blood relative).
Residential certificate or photocopy of the first page of bank passbook in which the residential address is clearly mentioned or electricity bill or telephone bill or passport or driving license or voter ID card or any one of the certificates used for voting.
